“ The Grither”
Sul lato opposto della montagna dove si trova il laboratorio di Babbo Natale c'è una grotta. Questa grotta è il luogo più freddo e umido della terra. All'interno della caverna c'è una vecchia nave e nella nave vive il Grither e lui odia avere freddo e odia essere bagnato. Ma la cosa che odia di più è che si parli di lui e ogni volta che qualcuno pronuncia il suo nome le sue orecchie diventano più grandi.
La piccola figlia è già spaventata e chiede ai suoi genitori di non raccontare la storia.
La madre dice che è troppo tardi, però, perché il Grither probabilmente sta già andando a casa loro.
Il Grither si chiama così perché ha mani grandi come palloni da basket e braccia lunghe come boa constrictor. Ogni volta che trova quelli che hanno pronunciato il suo nome, li stritola! Il padre parla con la figlia, chiedendole se crede a Babbo Natale, cosa a cui lei non crede e le dice che non dovrebbe credere nel Grither, perché nessuno dei due è reale.
All'improvviso, la porta si apre e un vento potente fa cadere tutti. Alla fine chiudono la porta. La figlia pensa che sia il Grither, ma sua madre insiste che sia stato il vento.
Due enormi braccia poi entrano dalle finestre e afferrano la testa sia della madre che del padre, spezzandogli il collo.
