“Under The Ocean” rimanda ad un ambiente soffocante e misterioso, pieno di insidie, non proprio quello di Parma, città da cui proviene la band, quanto quello del loro nuovo EP ‘Dark Waters’, che già dal titolo rincara la dose. In effetti il disco pur contenendo solo quattro pezzi consente di immergersi totalmente nel death metal degli UTO, fino ad esserne sopraffatti. Lo stile è infatti ricco e totalizzante, le canzoni sono piene e dense di note, veramente fitte e articolate in alcune parti prog, più dosate in quelle metalcore, che conferiscono il groove necessario, sempre comunque alla ricerca di ritmiche math. Ogni canzone percorre questi spazi attraverso entro i quali si muove la band, quando più in una direzione, quando più nell’altra, rimanendo sempre fra atmosfere cupe e violente, in cui la voce di Isacco racconta storie dell’occulto. ‘Dark Waters’ spicca sicuramente per la produzione firmata Sliver Recording Studio, riuscendo ad acquisire una dimensione internazionale, che potrà far contenti fan di The Black Dahlia Murder e simili. 7/10 - from saladdaysmag.com
