A truly stellar death/doom album with heavy doses of black metal. Tracks like Isolation, Child of Light, and Broken Hymns deliver the sorrowful and icy tone of this album, elevated by the stirring cello compositions of Raphael Weinroth-Browne. Truthseeker sert-il à Brendan James Hayter et Alex Fewell, deux artistes versés dans le death metal, d'excursion éphémère hors du sentier ? Je pose cette question parce que ce projet n'a eu le droit qu'à deux sorties : Weightless at Dawn que nous avons ici et Blue Oblivion sorti la même année — et depuis, rien. C'est bien dommage au vu de toutes les qualités réunies dans ce petit E.P. : bien que taillées dans un post-rock assez lent à tendances doom metal, c'est d'une légèreté exceptionnelle !
